Radiological, Surgical, and Pathological Anatomy of the Head and Neck - Segment 1: Oropharynx and Larynx
Lun 31 ago 2026 - Mer 02 set 2026
In head and neck oncology, the growing emphasis on post-treatment quality of life has driven the development of therapeutic strategies aimed at reducing morbidity while preserving oncological effectiveness. This evolution has supported the adoption of minimally invasive surgical and non-surgical approaches, particularly in the management of laryngeal and oropharyngeal malignancies, where anatomical complexity and biological heterogeneity directly influence clinical outcomes.
Sponsored by the EHNS Academy, this second European course - Segment 1: Oropharynx & Larynx - provides a comparative analysis of radiological, surgical, and pathological anatomy of these anatomical subsites, leveraging 3D visualization to enhance diagnostic accuracy and optimize therapeutic strategies. Particular emphasis is placed on diagnostic and therapeutic gray zones, which are addressed through multidisciplinary discussion of paradigmatic clinical cases, promoting clinical decision making guided by shared multidisciplinary expertise.
The course is structured into two full daily modules dedicated to the larynx and the oropharynx, complemented by a half-day session focused on cross-disciplinary topics that are common to both anatomical sites and relevant across specialties.
Each full day includes:
• Morning sessions featuring radiological anatomy, pathology-focused symposia on specimen evaluation, and selected components of comparative surgical anatomy, presented using 3D projection
• Afternoon sessions dedicated to completing the comparative analysis of surgical anatomy through inside-out and outside-in approaches, followed by multidisciplinary discussion of diagnostic and therapeutic gray zones based on paradigmatic clinical cases
All anatomical dissections and surgical demonstrations are captured and broadcast entirely in 3D, enhancing spatial understanding and interdisciplinary integration.
This segment is designed for Radiologists, Head and Neck Surgeons, Otolaryngologists, Maxillofacial Surgeons, Neurosurgeons, Medical and Radiation Oncologists, Oral and Plastic Surgeons, and Pathologists with a specific interest in laryngeal and oropharyngeal oncology.
It is possible to attend the entire course or one / more modules.
